It has also signed sports apparel brand 4U as kit partner, while Overcart and Purplle are on board as partners. “We have got a very good response for the team. These are all new sponsors who have never invested in Kabaddi,” Mustafa Ghouse, CEO of JSW Sports, told ET. “This shows the great progress PKL has made in the country in the last three years.”
The Haryana Steelers is among the four new teams Pro Kabaddi League will be introducing this season, set to kick off on July 28.
ET was first to report that Mashal Sports, owner of PKL, is going to auction four new teams and change the format of PKL to a three-month event, making it the longest sports league in India. On the investment part, while Ghouse did not share the exact amount the company is investing, he said JSW Sports has adequately invested to pick up the team and players and it will spend on making it a better experience for viewers.
